How to create an article

This is just a quick overview of how to create/edit an article.

There are only a few things you need to know, but there's a lot to work with if you feel like experimenting.

First: You must give the article a Title. You can leave the Alias blank.

Next: Start typing your text into the page. You can Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) text, but if you Paste (Ctrl+V) from an external document, you can also paste in the original formatting. Notice the top row of buttons in the toolbar are for standard basic text formatting.

Next: To add pictures, you must INSERT the image - don't try to Paste it, it won't work. The third row of buttons includes "Insert Image", which brings up a full-featured dialog box that allows you to upload and select pictures, and format its position and size.
TIP: Try to keep the image a moderate size - no more than 800 pixels wide or high for the artist page, or 630 pixels for an announcement. Best to resize it to the right dimensions before you upload it.

Next: To add a link to another page, first type in the text that will be used for the link. Click and drag to select it, and then click  the "Insert Link" button.  In the dialog box that pops up, put your link in the field marked URL.

Finally: In the box below the editor labeled "Publishing", choose Featured=Yes to have it appear on the front page. Optionally, you can select the Start and Finish dates for the article.

When you are done, click the Save button.

To add images, there are actually two ways to do it.
You can use the button below the editor for quick upload:  but it doesn't allow you to resize the image.

I recommend the button on the toolbar: which brings up the full-featured image browser:
